About CASA:

The 25th Judicial Circuit (Phelps, Maries, Texas, Pulaski counties) has a population of children in state custody that is shockingly similar to the major metro areas of Kansas City, Springfield, and Saint Louis. There are currently 302 children being served in South Central Missouri and over 100 children still waiting for an advocate to give them a voice in the legal system. CASA relies on donor's such as yourself to support these youth.

What do CASAs (Court Appointed Special Advocates) do?

  • CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system.
  • Their primary goal is to ensure these children are placed in safe and permanent homes as quickly as possible.
  • CASA volunteers undergo specialized training in the child welfare system, child development, and the needs of abused or neglected children.
  • They gather information about the child's circumstances and make recommendations to the court.
  • CASA volunteers advocate for the child's needs throughout the legal process.
